Duties
- Prepare ingredients by washing, peeling, slicing, chopping, and portioning according to recipes and safety standards
- Prepare and cook a variety of foods, including fruits, vegetables, meats, and other ingredients
- Assist in meal assembly and plating to ensure presentation aligns with established guidelines
- Operate kitchen equipment such as ovens and food processors safely and efficiently
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and equipment through regular cleaning and sanitizing procedures
- Assist with inventory management, and purchase weekly ingredients
- Follow food safety management protocols to prevent contamination and ensure compliance with health standards
- Contribute to catering events or special meal preparations as needed while maintaining high standards of hygiene and safety
Experience
- Previous experience in food service, restaurant work, or culinary environments is preferred
- Familiarity with dietary aide responsibilities or dietary department operations is a plus
