JOB SUMMARY
Protects life and property of hospital patients, visitors and staff. Patrols hospital buildings and grounds to prevent fire, thefts and vandalism. Secures, unlock and protects hospital buildings. Responds to the security needs of hospital patients, visitors and staff. Performs employee Covid19 testing utilizing correct policy and procedures.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Education: High school graduate or GED preferred.
Experience: Prior security related experience preferred
Licenses/Certificates: Valid Driver’s License. Must be able to qualify for TN Protective Service License, but this is not required. SAMA certification and Basic Life Support certification within 90 days of hire.
General Responsibilities
The security officer is responsible for patrolling all medical center properties to prevent fire, theft, illegal entry, crimes against persons, patient elopement, intoxicated persons, disputes, and other possible hostile situations. He/she must take the initiative to restore order, make initial investigations, and complete a written report of the incident. Must be able to detect violations of established guidelines and procedures, and elicit cooperation of others to correct the same. Record all rounds and requests on a daily log. Respond to all emergency calls such as fire, bomb threats, combative situations, etc.
