JOB SUMMARY
Works under the general supervision of Patient Experience leadership and follows established policies and procedures to support patients and families throughout the Emergency Department. The Patient Ambassador serves as a non-clinical resource focused on improving patient comfort, communication, and overall experience. The individual provides courteous assistance, addresses basic needs, and helps reduce anxiety during wait times. The associate maintains positive working relationships with patients, families, and interdisciplinary staff to promote a respectful, supportive, and compassionate environment. Performs additional duties as assigned in a professional and patient-centered manner.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
Licensure : None required.
Certification : None required.
Experience: Previous customer service, hospitality, patient experience, or healthcare-related experience preferred.
Skills: The associate must possess strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage positively with patients and families in a high-stress environment. The individual must demonstrate compassion, patience, and professionalism at all times. Ability to remain calm, organized, and approachable in a fast-paced Emergency Department setting is required. The associate must have basic computer skills, good time-management, and the ability to follow instructions and policies. The individual must demonstrate sound judgment, adaptability, and a team-oriented mindset. Must maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA standards.
