Vitreo-Retinal Consultants, Inc. is a private practice ophthalmology group that specializes in the retina. We have seven fellowship-trained retinal specialists, four main locations, and multiple satellite and surgery centers.

Our practice is expanding its team, and is currently seeking full-time Ophthalmic Assistants. The Ophthalmic Assistant will be responsible for assisting the doctor with various administrative duties and will also be expected to perform various tasks related to surgery and preparation. The ideal candidate for this position has either completed a Bachelor's degree in a related field or has a strong technical background.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct daily examinations and screenings of patients to detect any abnormalities of the eyes.
- Monitor patient health histories, examine medical records, and develop a treatment plan based on findings.
- Operate equipment in making visual examinations of the eyes and other body parts.
- Record information produced by equipment used in examinations.
- Perform special duties in emergencies as needed.
Qualifications and skills required for this position:
- Experience working in a medical office setting preferred
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize “on the fly”
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Will travel to outlying offices (mileage reimbursed)
- Ability to pay attention to detail
- Electronic Health Record (EHR) experience
- Exceptional customer service skills
- Excellent verbal/written communication skills

Hours: Monday thru Friday, 7:45 am to 5:15 pm (need to be available during these hours)
Job Type: Full-time (40 hours / week)

Pay: $16.00 - $23.00 per hour
