Vito's Italian Restaurant in Saint Johns, FL is seeking a reliable and motivated Line/Prep Cook to join our kitchen team at our Italian restaurant. The ideal candidate has prior kitchen experience (Italian cuisine preferred), a strong work ethic, and dependable transportation. This is a full-time position focused on dinner service only.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes and quality standards
- Assist with daily prep tasks, including chopping, portioning, and organizing stations
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations and kitchen areas
- Ensure proper food handling, storage, and sanitation procedures
- Work efficiently in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- Follow instructions from the Head Chef and assist where needed
- Help with closing duties, including cleaning and restocking
Requirements:
- Prior line or prep cook experience (Italian restaurant experience a plus)
- Ability to follow recipes and maintain consistency
- Must have reliable transportation
- Available to work evenings Tuesday through Sunday
- Strong communication skills and a positive attitude
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 30 lbs
