Admissions Counselor – Undergraduate Nursing

Responsibilities

Program-Specific Recruitment: Undergraduate Nursing

• Serve as the lead admissions advisor for undergraduate nursing, developing and executing a comprehensive recruitment strategy aligned with program capacity and licensure preparation.
• Maintain in-depth knowledge of curriculum, clinical requirements, and licensure expectations to advise prospective students with accuracy and confidence.
• Act as the key contact for prospective nursing students and their families, delivering timely and personalized communication throughout the enrollment process.
• Collaborate with faculty and academic leaders in the College of Nursing to ensure alignment between recruitment efforts and program expectations. Collaboration with Academic and Administrative Partners.
• Coordinate faculty participation in recruitment events, class visit opportunities, and strategic outreach initiatives related to nursing.
• Provide regular feedback to the College of Nursing and admissions leadership about prospective student trends, market intelligence, and enrollment challenges.
• Partner with the Financial Aid Office, Advising, and other campus departments to create seamless onboarding experience for prospective nursing students.

Marketing and Communications Collaboration

• Work closely with Marketing and Communications to shape targeted messaging for undergraduate nursing and broader audiences.
• Contribute to content development for print materials, web pages, email campaigns, social media, and video storytelling that highlight the strength and outcomes of the nursing program.
• Ensure messaging across all platforms is accurate, inclusive, and aligned with current program offerings and student experiences.

Outreach and Representation

• Represent Viterbo at college fairs, high school visits, transfer events, and virtual sessions as determined within the admissions team.
• Identify new partnership opportunities with high schools or other education organizations that align with recruitment goals.
• Build and maintain relationships with key influencers such as guidance counselors.

Cross-Functional Collaboration and Leadership

• Act as a leader within the undergraduate admissions team by mentoring colleagues, contributing to training and onboarding, and providing strategic input across functional areas.
• Support general recruitment activities for other academic areas as needed, maintaining flexibility and a team-first mindset.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in the CRM and share insights on territory and program-specific trends to inform broader team strategies.
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; master's degree or background in healthcare, education, or enrollment management preferred.
• Demonstrated experience in data analysis, strategic planning, and project leadership within a recruitment or admissions environment.
• Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage both prospective student relationships and student staff with professionalism and care.
• Experience working independently with complex responsibilities and managing competing priorities effectively.
• Familiarity with nursing education, clinical placement structures, or licensure pathways is a strong plus.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel during key recruitment seasons
