What are the responsibilities and job description for the Caregiver/ Ride Along Aide position at Vitawerks?
Key Responsibilities
- Accompany and supervise patients during transportation to and from medical facilities, schools, or community programs.
- Provide assistance with boarding, seating, securing mobility devices, and exiting vehicles in compliance with ADA requirements.
- Ensure adherence to PASS (Passenger Assistance, Safety, and Sensitivity) training standards.
- Support passengers with mobility challenges, medical equipment, or personal needs during transit.
- Communicate effectively with drivers, caregivers, and facility staff to ensure smooth coordination.
- Monitor passenger behavior, provide reassurance, and intervene appropriately in case of distress or emergencies.
- Maintain accurate documentation of transport activity, incidents, and reports as required.
- Protect passenger confidentiality and rights in line with HIPAA and California state regulations.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Valid CTAA Basic PASS Certification (Passenger Assistance, Safety, and Sensitivity) – required.
- Current CPR/First Aid certification
- Experience as a caregiver, aide, CNA, or similar support role preferred.
