What are the responsibilities and job description for the Healthcare Recruiter for Volunteer Services position at VITAS Healthcare?
Provides expertise and assists with oversight of VITAS Healthcare “Supportive Service” Volunteer Program’s as well as provides support of company’s bereavement program offerings.
All duties and responsibilities are to be performed in accordance with VITAS Healthcare Corporation’s policies, procedures, guidelines, contractual commitments, and governmental regulations.
• Support Volunteer Managers and associated staff in programs
• Monitor Volunteer Manager openings in the programs, assist with recruitment activities and possible support as needed.
• Review and revise Volunteer Manager Job description, role expectations as needed.
• Approve credentialing exceptions for Volunteer Manager roles within the program.
• Act as a resource to program staff related to volunteer services as needed.
• Analyzing current volunteer trends for opportunities of improvement
• Participates in development of performance improvement and quality assurance standards, policies and procedures, educational materials, and measurable project plans as it relates to volunteer needs to meet Vitas’ strategic goals.
• Review and revise standards related to Supportive Services, as needed.
• Coordinate with other departments to provide Volunteers Services perspective.
• Provide Orientation on Volunteer Services roles to PCA/TM, etc.
• Work with corporate marketing to develop and enhance volunteer services resources.
• Assist programs during survey in relation to Volunteer Services, as needed.
• Engage in the development and facilitation of training for VSMs on best practices.
• Oversee National Volunteers Services Support Activities
• Facilitate national calls related to Supportive Services with other members of Supportive Services Department
• Provide ongoing mentoring to VSMs.
• Works cooperatively with Spiritual and Psychosocial support as needed.
• Partner with Spiritual and Psychosocial Support Leads (as well as others) in securing National and local partners for Volunteer Internship Opportunities
• Provide consultation to IT regarding the development or enhancement of software for Supportive Services
• Use experience, external data, and internal data to benchmark our practices and identify emerging trends for consideration.
• Monitor the policies and procedures for the development group and provide input to make corrections.
• Integration of 3rd party products and/or services
• Maintain HR data integrity by ensuring the accuracy and consistency of input data. Audit HR data and troubleshoot irregularities.
• Maintain working knowledge of all applicable federal and state regulations, statutes and VITAS policies and procedures regarding Supportive Services

QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Experience:
• Three to five years’ prior experience as volunteer or bereavement manager preferred.
• A minimum of one year experience training or educating others.
• Proficient in a variety of software packages including Vx, Vx for Windows, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.
• Good organizational skills with ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to communicate tactfully, verbally and in writing with department heads, managers, coworkers, and vendors to resolve problems and negotiate resolutions.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Certification & Licensure:
Certification in Volunteer Administration (CVA) preferred.
Other requirements:
Ability to travel a minimum of 25% of the time.
