Schedule and Term
- Full-time equivalent (182.5 days/year) with a block schedule (examples: 7 on/7 off or 14 on/14 off)
- 1–3 year contract
- 24/7 call coverage during scheduled blocks
Clinical Responsibilities
- Inpatient consults and daily rounding
- Outpatient cardiology clinic
- Supervise and interpret diagnostic testing (stress tests, ECHO, TEE)
- Interpret nuclear cardiology studies
Diagnostic and Interventional Duties
- Coronary angiography (diagnostic LHC/RHC)
- Percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI)
- Fractional Flow Reserve (FFR) and IVUS
- Cardioversion
- Temporary pacemaker placement; IABP/Impella support
- Preferred (not required): permanent pacemaker implantation, peripheral diagnostic/intervention, TAVR
Collaboration
- Close work with hospitalists, primary care providers, and multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient care
Requirements
- Board certification in Interventional Cardiology
- Minimum of 50 PCIs in the last 18 months
- Texas medical license (licensure facilitation provided)
