We have been retained by one of the San Francisco Bay Area's most established and respected commercial construction organizations to identify an experienced Corporate Controller for an important financial leadership position within the company.
The organization has a long-standing presence throughout California, a significant portfolio of complex commercial construction projects and the financial strength, resources and reputation of a national construction company.
This is a highly visible position working closely with the company's executive, operational and financial leadership teams and will play an important role in both the financial management of the organization today and its continued growth.
The company is looking for someone who understands the financial complexities of construction, but equally important, can operate as a business partner to leadership and operations.
The Corporate Controller will provide leadership and oversight of the company's accounting and financial reporting functions while developing a strong understanding of the projects, operating groups and business decisions behind the financial results.
Responsibilities will include:
- Lead the company's accounting organization and provide oversight of financial reporting, general ledger, project accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll and related financial functions
- Manage the monthly, quarterly and annual close processes and ensure the accuracy, integrity and timeliness of financial reporting
- Partner with Project Executives, Operations Leaders and senior management to understand project performance, identify financial trends and improve visibility into operating results
- Provide leadership around budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, working capital and financial planning
- Develop and maintain effective financial controls, accounting policies and reporting standards appropriate for a sophisticated construction organization
- Provide meaningful financial analysis to executive leadership to support operational and strategic decision-making
- Lead, mentor and develop accounting and finance professionals while continuing to strengthen the capabilities of the overall team
Desired Experience
10 years of progressive accounting and finance experience, including meaningful leadership responsibility within the construction industry.
The ideal candidate will have experience with a highly regarded:
General Contractor, Specialty Contractor or in a related industry with similar processes and systems.
