Manicurist and Nail Technician

Duties

• Perform a variety of nail treatments including manicures, pedicures, gel manicures, acrylic nail applications, and nail extensions to meet client preferences.
• Apply advanced techniques such as nail art, color theory-based designs, and intricate detailing to create customized looks.
• Maintain strict salon safety protocols by adhering to sanitation standards and disinfection procedures for tools and workstations.
• Educate clients on proper nail care routines and recommend suitable treatments or products to enhance their beauty regimen.
• Communicate effectively with clients to understand their needs, provide consultations, and ensure a satisfying experience.
• Promote retail sales of nail care products and accessories through upselling strategies that benefit both the client and the salon.
• Keep up-to-date with industry trends such as esthetic laser treatments, eyelash extensions, body waxing, hair styling, hair extensions, and other esthetic services to expand service offerings.

Skills

• Strong knowledge of color theory to create visually appealing designs tailored to each client’s style.
• Proficiency in applying nail extensions using various techniques such as acrylics and gels.
• Experience performing pedicures and manicure services with attention to detail and hygiene standards.
• Familiarity with salon safety protocols including sanitation practices and disinfection procedures for tools and equipment.
• Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and build rapport with diverse clients.
• Background in cosmetology or esthetician training with experience working in the beauty industry preferred.
• Ability to upsell retail products effectively while maintaining a focus on client satisfaction.
• Knowledge of additional beauty treatments such as dermabrasion, hair threading, hair styling, barbering, eyelash extensions, body waxing, and esthetic laser treatments is a plus.
• Strong communication skills combined with retail math skills for accurate transactions and product recommendations.
