SUBSTANCE USE DISORDER TREATMENT PROGRAM TRAINER (CADC, CAADC) POSITION SUMMARY:

The Substance Use Disorder Program Trainer will be a highly skilled substance use counselor with a training background. The SUD Treatment Program Trainer collaborates with leadership and multidisciplinary teams to assess training needs, create educational materials, facilitate instructor-led and virtual training sessions, and monitor staff competency and program effectiveness. 

The ideal candidate is an engaging educator with strong knowledge of substance use treatment practices, excellent communication skills, and the ability to foster a positive learning environment while supporting staff development and quality patient care.

SUBSTANCE USE DISORDER TREATMENT PROGRAM TRAINER (CADC, CAADC) ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Developing, overseeing, and facilitating a training program for DDOC substance use counselors and mental health therapists


• Providing onsite training and staff orientation


• Planning and delivering advanced training courses and workshops


• Providing expert guidance on complex training matters


• Promoting the use of training resources to enhance individual growth and organizational effectiveness

SUBSTANCE USE DISORDER TREATMENT PROGRAM TRAINER (CADC, CAADC) MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• Must have a minimum of two years of experience working in a Therapeutic Community environment. Candidates without two years of TC environment may be considered on a case-by-case basis.


• Must have a substance use certification (i.e., CADC, CAADC), or must be actively working towards attaining a substance use certification and must obtain the certificate within two years of hire.


• Bachelor's degree in social work, counseling psychology, or other similar degree.
