BACHELOR'S LEVEL SOCIAL WORKER (BSW) POSITION SUMMARY
The Mental Health Professional will work as part of a multidisciplinary team with all other disciplines on the Behavioral Health Unit to provide a proactive and collaborative approach in serving the patient population.
BACHELOR'S LEVEL SOCIAL WORKER (BSW) ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Assist patient in articulating personal goals for recovery and wellness through one-to-one and group sessions.
- Provide support in identifying and creating goals and developing recovery plans with the skills, strengths, support, and
resources needed to achieve goals.
Encourage and assist patient to collaborate with their Behavioral Health Professional and treatment team to plan steps
for achieving their recovery and wellness goals.
Utilize tools to assist patient in creating their own individual wellness and recovery plans.
Work with the treatment team to teach problem-solving techniques to individuals and groups, encouraging patients to
share and discuss strategies for coping and managing daily challenges.
Assist in building social skills that will enhance activities of daily living.
Collaborate with the re-entry team to help patient participate in the release planning process.
Assist in developing empowerment skills and combating stigma through self-advocacy.
Attend training and meetings as required.
Other duties as assigned.
BACHELOR'S LEVEL SOCIAL WORKER (BSW) MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- The Behavioral Health Professional co-leads group therapy, one on one therapy, and crisis therapy.
- Must have a Bachelor's in Social Work
- Preferred two-year employment in a social work capacity in a public or private agency or equivalent.
- Must receive a satisfactory background investigation report.
