PEDIATRIC PERSONAL CARE WORKER/CAREGIVER

Must be able to work weekdays, afterschool and weekends.

As a pediatric personal Care and respite provider, you get to make a direct impact in the lives of Colorado families. You have the opportunity to support and empower individuals from birth-20 in their daily lives and within their peer communities. This position allows for 1-to-1 interaction with clients to allow for true connection and engagement.

Duties and Responsibilities

· Assist with activities of daily living. Activities may include skin care, ambulation, bathing, dressing, exercise, hair care, oral care, bladder and bowel care.

· Provide client companionship and engagement in the form of conversation, emotional reassurance, and coordination of mentally stimulating activities. This includes transporting clients to and from community outings and/or appointments

· Possess a deep understanding of delineation of care worker roles. Be able to quickly identify scenarios that call for more skilled care or medical treatment. Quickly report any deterioration in client’s mental or physical condition to supervisor.

· Providing support with hobbies, studies, and social activities

· Attend periodic educational sessions (normally 6 sessions per year).

· Maintain confidentiality in all aspects of job performance.

· Provide standard infection control precautions, basic first aid, and home safety.

· Comply with all applicable laws, regulations, and standards

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

· Understand the theories of behavior management and positive reinforcement, and represent yourself as a positive role model

· Working knowledge of principles and procedures for personal care in a home setting.

· Comfort in dealing with sensitive family issues and issues related to healthcare process.

· Conscientious, observant, and proactive.

· Ability to communicate effectively in person and in writing.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

· At least 18 years of age.

· Reliable transportation and auto insurance

· Successful completion of agency training and successful completion of a written competency exam related to the agency PCW training course.

· Availability to work a flexible schedule: Evening and weekend availability required. Weekday shifts available.

· Willingness to drive to client homes in outlying areas as needed

Special Requirements:

1. Valid, current state driver's license and access to a reliable automobile

2. COVID Vaccine required

Job Types: Part-time. Full-time.

Pay: $15.00 - $16.00 per hour DOE
