POSTED ON 11/8/2025 CLOSED ON 1/7/2026

What are the responsibilities and job description for the In-Home Behavioral Health Respite Provider position at VitalCare?

Come join our team as a Behavioral Health Respite Provider (BHR Provider) and get excited to help enhance the lives of kids and adolescents! VitalCare is expanding its team and looking for an enthusiastic, driven, communicative professional, with a passion for helping young people with significant behavioral and mental health challenges, who feels a pull towards a position that will allow them to empower, mentor, and guide clients who are at risk of out-of-home placement. The best person for this position will provide in-home behavioral health respite care (and occasionally out in the community) in a way that leads their clients to happier, healthier wellbeing.

Our services are essential to providing relief for parents and caregivers from daily caregiving so they can engage in self-care, allowing them to come back from this break feeling more refreshed, energized, and able to be the best versions of themselves for the child. The Behavioral Health Respite Provider has been a pivotal part of making incredible differences in the lives of our clients and their families.

VitalCare is a licensed non-medial home care agency based in Westminster, CO, and has been serving clients across the Front Range since 2017. We believe in trustworthy and compassionate care is the right of every individual, and strive to bring integrity, authenticity, transparency, respect, and FUN into everything we do. Whether it is music or massage therapy, counseling, personal care, or respite care, you can trust that our team of professionals will bring a plethora of knowledge and adaptability to every minute of your time with them.

In addition to working with our knowledgeable and supportive BHR team, here are some of the other perks of being a Behavioral Health Respite Provider with us:

· POSITION TYPE:

o Part Time Hourly: Our providers can work a variety of hours per week with full autonomy over their schedule, perfect for balancing making a difference in a child’s life within your current activities!

o Okay, but how many hours are we talking? Hours per week could range anywhere from 8-25, depending on the need in your area. (Average hours typically fall in the 10–15 hour range, especially at the start of employment).

o Can I take on more than one client at a time to gain more hours? Absolutely! We are happy to work with you in finding a client load that works for you, as well as the current needs of the business.

o Am I going to be driving to only work 1 or 2 hours? No way! All visits are a minimum of 3 hours per day.

o When do these hours take place? This position will typically require evening and weekend availability, as this is when most families need help. (This may adjust slightly at times when school is not in session.)

· COMPENSATION:

o Client Contact Rate: Your time spent with clients will compensate you at an hourly rate of $20-$27 per hour.

o Client Contact Rate Determination: During the interview process, your skills, education and experience will be evaluated to determine your Provider Level (1, 2, or 3). Your level will indicate the pay rate you qualify for.

o What About Administrative Tasks? During approved administrative activities (think New Hire Orientation & training), the hourly rate for this position will be $20/hour.

o In-Home Means Driving. Do you reimburse mileage? YES! Approved mileage will be compensated at a rate of $0.70 per mile. We strive to keep clients in a commute range that is comfortable for you, with the help of our very talented Coordinator.

*Mileage reimbursement rate subject to change based on state and federal regulations.

Other Perks Worth Mentioning:

o Do We Help You Continue to Grow Your Skillset? Absolutely! We hold in-office training, such as CPI and ASIST, to give you additional resources to utilize during your time with clients.

o What if I get sick? You will accrue 48 hours of sick time per year to use.

o I have friends. We love friends! Refer them to VitalCare and enjoy up to a $300 bonus if they are hired and stay with us for 6 months!
