What are the responsibilities and job description for the Service Advisor (Fleet / Diesel) position at Vitalcare Fleet Repair?
We’re a small fleet repair shop that expects professionalism, accountability, and pride in the work — without the corporate nonsense.
We’re looking for a Service Advisor who can manage the front of the shop, think through problems, and take ownership of workflow and customer communication.
This is not a basic counter job. You’ll be working directly with fleet customers, coordinating repairs, and helping keep trucks on the road. You need to be confident, organized, and able to handle high-value repairs without hand-holding.
You’ll be supporting light-, medium-, and heavy-duty fleet vehicles (pickups, vans, and box trucks) and helping drive efficiency in both the shop and customer experience.
Responsibilities
- Write estimates and repair orders for fleet vehicles
- Communicate diagnostics and repair recommendations clearly
- Coordinate with technicians to manage workflow and job progress
- Order parts and keep jobs moving efficiently
- Identify additional needed repairs and preventative maintenance
- Maintain strong relationships with fleet customers
- Ensure accurate documentation and billing
Requirements
- 2 years experience as a Service Advisor (automotive, diesel, or fleet preferred)
- Ability to work independently and stay organized in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Mechanical understanding of vehicle systems and repairs
- Professional, dependable, and detail-oriented
Benefits
- $17–19/hr base pay (depending on experience)
- Performance bonus (3–5% of gross profit)
- Additional KPI-based bonuses
- 2 weeks paid vacation
- Stable, full-time position
- No corporate structure or micromanagement
