What are the responsibilities and job description for the Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (ARNP) position at Vital Urgent Care?
The Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (ARNP) is an advanced practice registered nurse who provides comprehensive patient care through assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and management of acute and chronic health conditions. Working independently and/or collaboratively with physicians and other healthcare professionals, the ARNP delivers high-quality, evidence-based care in accordance with state laws, professional standards, and organizational policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments, including medical history, physical examinations, and diagnostic evaluations
- Diagnose and manage acute and chronic illnesses across the lifespan (or within assigned specialty)
- Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized treatment and care plans
- Prescribe medications, therapies, and medical devices in accordance with state regulations
- Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests and laboratory results
- Provide patient and family education on health promotion, disease prevention, and self-care management
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary healthcare team members to ensure coordinated care
- Document patient encounters accurately and timely in the electronic health record (EHR)
- Adhere to clinical guidelines, regulatory requirements, and organizational policies
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, continuing education, and professional development activities
- Serve as a patient advocate, ensuring culturally competent and ethical care
Required Qualifications
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) and Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (ARNP/APRN) in the applicable state
- Master’s or Doctoral degree in Nursing from an accredited program
- National board certification in the appropriate specialty (e.g., FNP, AGNP, PMHNP, ACNP, etc.)
- Eligibility for prescriptive authority and DEA registration (as applicable)
- Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, and decision-making skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous clinical experience as a Nurse Practitioner in a related specialty
- Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems
- Bilingual or multilingual abilities a plus
- Previous Urgent Care experience is a plus
