What are the responsibilities and job description for the Infusion Staff Pharmacist position at Vital Care of Wilmington?
Overview
The staff pharmacist is responsible for clinical pharmacy services including evaluating physician orders, compounding of sterile preparations, safe and efficient dispensing of medications and supplies, patient profile monitoring, evaluating patient labs, and drug counseling. Responsible for maintaining accreditation and adherence to all state and federal laws, rules and regulations for pharmacy operation. Responsible for inventory management, lot number tracking, and product recalls. The staff pharmacist will serve as the alternate manager.
Duties
1. Maintain good relations with clients/patients.
2. Maintain a system of lot and batch numbers, which will allow for recall of medication products.
3. Safe and efficient dispensing of medications and supplies
4. Assure that all drugs dispensed by the pharmacy are dispensed in appropriate containers that are adequately labeled according to state and federal laws.
5. Manage any pharmaceutical recalls.
6. Maintain adequate inventory levels.
7. Assist in resolving pharmacy client concerns.
8. Assume on-call responsibilities in accordance with company guidelines.
9. Report product incidents as required in accordance with company policy.
10. Assumes the duties of the Pharmacist in Charge in their absence and in compliance with all state Board of Pharmacy requirements as Pharmacist in Charge. Duties include supervising pharmacy staff and overseeing pharmacy operations.
Qualifications
1. Pharmacy degree and State Licensure.
2. Compounding Experience.
3. Experience in conflict resolution and disciplinary processes
4. Organizational skills sufficient to maintain consistently accurate records
5. Current knowledge of all applicable state and federal pharmacy laws, rules and regulations.
6. Competency in Microsoft applications including word, excel and outlook
