What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sterile compounding Technician/IV infusion full-time/part-time/Prn pharmacy tech position at Vital Care of Jacksonville?
The pharmacy technician assists with the compounding of sterile preparations in compliance with regulatory requirements and organizational policies and procedures, assembly of patient supplies and equipment, and other tasks under the direct supervision of a pharmacist. The pharmacy technician assists with the maintenance and cleaning of the pharmacy work areas as described in the Apollo References Manual, and assists with quality control and performance improvement activities as directed by the franchised pharmacy manager. This position reports to the pharmacy manager.
Qualifications
- Required: High school diploma or equivalent
- Required: At least 18 years of age
- Required: Good interactive skills with employees, supervisors, referral sources, and consumers
- Required: Registered with State Board of Pharmacy (if applicable in state(s) of service area)
- Preferred: National pharmacy technician certification (CPhT)
- Preferred: Completion of pharmacy technician training preferred
- Preferred: Experience in laboratory or health care setting
Physical Requirements Task
May require lifting over 40 lb.

May require frequent use of computer keyboard
May require use of latex products
May require moderate to high amounts of driving (extended sitting)

Lifting cases of enteral formula and infusion solutions
Standing at laminar air flow hood during product preparation

Essential Job Functions
- Perform infusion related sterile compounding procedures in compliance with regulatory standards and organizational policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
Complies with company policies related to the compounding process and patient care.
Maintains knowledge of USP chapter <797> to assure the quality, sterility, and stability of compounded sterile preparations.
Demonstrates proper hand hygiene and garbing procedures, to include removing all jewelry, cosmetics, and outer garments prior to working within the ISO Class 7 or better environment.
Demonstrates proper aseptic technique and knowledge of laminar airflow theory when preparing sterile medications and solutions.
Accurately and safely prepares medications, labels, and drug compounding records.
Accurately prepares patient supplies for dispensing.
Consistently maintains and cleans pharmacy work areas as directed by the pharmacy manager, and completes the pharmacy maintenance log.
Attends in-service education programs and stays knowledgeable regarding current equipment and procedures.
Directs questions to the pharmacy manager or nursing personnel if uncertain regarding drugs, supplies, deliveries, or equipment.
Completes assigned paperwork/documentation as directed in a timely manner.
