Duties
- Assist in food preparation and meal assembly according to established recipes and menu plans
- Support cooking activities by preparing ingredients, chopping vegetables, and handling basic kitchen tasks
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including washing dishes and sanitizing surfaces
- Handle food safely by following proper food handling procedures and adhering to safety guidelines
- Help with food service operations, including serving meals and managing buffet or tray setups
- Support catering events by preparing and delivering food items as needed
- Ensure all kitchen equipment is used properly and maintained in good working order
Experience
- Previous experience in dietary departments or as a dietary aide is preferred but not required; training will be provided
- Familiarity with menu planning, food preparation, and cooking techniques is advantageous
- Experience working in food service environments such as restaurants or catering is beneficial
