What are the responsibilities and job description for the Ophthalmic / Optometric Technician – Fundus Imaging (4 Days/Week) position at Visualize LTC Eye Care?
Visualize LTC Eye Care is seeking an experienced Ophthalmic or Optometric Technician with fundus/retinal imaging experience to join our mobile eye-care team. You will support our Optometrists at nursing home facilities throughout the Bronx and nearby areas. This role is ideal for someone reliable, detail-oriented, and comfortable traveling between clinical sites.
This is a 4-day per week position, Monday–Friday, with consistent daytime hours approximately 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM.
What You’ll Do
- Perform high-quality fundus/retinal photography
- Prepare patient charts and daily exam rosters
- Assist the Optometrist during clinical exams
- Measure, adjust, and repair eyeglass frames
- Document schedule changes with nursing staff
- Upload and submit electronic documents to the main office daily
- Maintain a professional and efficient workflow at each location
Travel Requirements
- Must have a reliable vehicle and valid Driver’s License
- Will travel to multiple nursing home sites within Brooklyn & surrounding areas
- Travel may be up to 1 hour from your home base
- Mileage, gas, and tolls are fully reimbursed
Requirements
✔ Fundus imaging experience (required)
✔ 2 years of experience as an Ophthalmic or Optometric Technician
✔ Valid Driver’s License & personal vehicle
✔ High school diploma or GED
✔ Strong communication skills & professional demeanor
✔ Comfortable working independently at different sites
Preferred: Medical assistant training or prior eye-care certification
