Job Overview:
We will consider both full time and part time applicants
We are seeking a skilled CAD Drafter/ Associate Lighting Designer to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess lighting and electrical design skills. You will create detailed technical drawings and construction documents using CAD software, collaborating closely with engineers, architects, and senior designers.
Duties:
- Create detailed drawings using AutoCAD software
- Collaborate with engineers and architects to understand project requirements and specifications
- Review and modify existing drawings to ensure accuracy and adherence to standards
- Prepare drawings for construction or installation purposes
- Generate bills of materials (BOMs) and other documentation as required
- Perform quality checks on completed drawings to identify errors or inconsistencies
- Attend project meetings and collaborate with the design team to coordinate workflow, address priorities and forecasted schedules
- Support lighting design tasks from concept under the direction of senior designers
- Produce construction lighting drawings and documentation
- Perform photometric calculations using AGI32
- Implement energy code compliant designs and provide required calculations
- Ability to consistently work on multiple projects at once
- Strong work ethic and integrity in all aspects of work performance
Experience:
To be successful in this role, you must be/ have:
- Highly proficient using AutoCAD
- Knowledge of lighting design principles and techniques
- Ability to interpret complex technical specifications and translate them into accurate construction documents/blueprints
- Experience creating detailed schematics and technical drawings
- Excellent attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills
- Effective communication skills to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams
Preferred Skills:
- Creation of lighting plans, lighting schedules, and lighting specification packages
- Modeling lighting systems and landscapes using Lumion
- Experience with AGI32 lighting analysis software
- Project management experience is a plus

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
