The Purchasing Manager leads the daily operations and performance of a dynamic team of purchasing professionals in the lighting industry. This role is responsible for developing and executing effective purchasing and supply chain strategies that align with the company’s overall business objectives, while ensuring consistent and efficient supply planning to maintain product availability and continuity.

- Facilitate supplier meetings and team members to review and resolve problems or issues as needed
- Facilitate S&OP meetings on product transitions and supply gaps with corrective actions identified
- Provide support to cross functional departments as required
- Work closely with managers, technical/specification engineers, and new product development to identify suppliers, drive supplier selection and adherence to commodity strategy
- Generate material cost savings through strategic sourcing / commodity management
- Negotiate pricing, contracts, and payment terms with suppliers
- Review and resolve any discrepancies with supplier invoices, grievances, claims, conflicts, product non-conformance, or quality issues
- Report into management the measurable status of progress and corrective actions as it pertains to supplier performance
- Monitor material flow to ensure inventory is maintained to support on-time deliveries and optimal inventory levels
- Manage and mentor a dynamic team of purchasing professionals
- Establish and implement purchasing strategies, policies, and procedures

- Strategically develop and implement product and supply chain strategies, including new product development
- Manage all activities that develop relationships with suppliers
- Manage materials savings initiatives in line with profit plan and overall business objectives

- Work effectively with others in a team environment to accomplish organizational goals and to identify and resolve problems.
- Drive usage of cost models to validate purchasing strategies and understand significant cost drivers
- Review and resolve discrepancies with supplier-related documentation or performance issues (cross-categorized with Troubleshoot)
- Report on the measurable status of supplier performance and progress (cross-categorized with Monitor)
- Lead S&OP meetings on product transitions and supply gaps with corrective actions identified (cross-categorized with Facilitate)
- Prepare and review data or documentation related to supplier contracts, cost models, and inventory levels

- 5 years of full-time experience in a Supply Chain capacity handling offshore suppliers
- Four-year degree from a college or university accredited by the US Department of Education preferred
- Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered for this role

- Strong aptitude for and proficiency navigating Systems and Programs including Microsoft Software: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook.
- Experience in interior design, custom home building products, luxury home furnishings and/or lighting industry a plus
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills, with a strong attention to detail
- Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and changing priorities
- Ability to achieve results both independently and through others by fostering a spirit of teamwork and cooperation
