Job Description
Key Accountabilities
- Assist the Radiation Protection Supervisors in the direction of day- to- day activities of the Radiation Protection personnel including log review and coordination with other station work groups
- Develop and maintain Radiation Protection Department and Safety Services procedures
- Coordinate the implementation of the Station’s Radioactive Waste Management; ALARA; Radioactive Material Control; Dosimetry; Respiratory Protection and Effluent & Radiological Environmental Programs
- Monitor the effectiveness of the above programs and produce various trend reports
- Represent Radiation Protection on the Chemical Overview Group (COG)
- Act as Contract Coordinator for various Radiation Protection Contracts
- Support Outage planning in the development and execution of radiological support plans
- Assist in the development and oversight of Radiation Protection training for Technicians and Radiation Workers
- Bachelors of Science degree in Health Physics or Radiation Protection 4 years related experience –or-
- Bachelor’s degree 6 years related work experience -or-
- Associates degree in engineering technology, chemistry, radiation protection or related field 9 years related work experience and NRRPT Certification -or-
- Navy Nuclear ELT 9 years related work experience and NRRPT Certification -or-
- 11 years related work experience and NRRPT Certification (including at least 2 years of Radiation Protection experience)
