This role integrates advanced radar signal processing, synthetic aperture radar (SAR) expertise, and AI/ML development to support critical overhead sensing missions. You will serve as a strategic technical leader driving innovation in radar capabilities to solve real-world problems with lasting solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a team of radar and AI engineers across project lifecycles.
- Architect and implement Python-based SAR processing pipelines.
- Develop and integrate AI/ML models and tools for target detection, classification, and change detection.
- Interface with program management, customers, and external partners to communicate technical vision and execution.
- Support customer visits and field testing with travel up to 10%.
Candidates Must Meet One Of The Following
- PhD in Mathematics, Physics, Electrical Engineering, or related science discipline (preferred focus on radar/signal processing) plus a minimum of 3 years of professional experience.
- Master’s degree in a relevant field plus 5 or more years of professional experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field plus 7 or more years of professional experience.
- Proficiency in Python and its scientific libraries (NumPy, SciPy, TensorFlow, PyTorch, etc.).
- Hands-on experience with synthetic aperture radar (SAR) algorithms and data formats.
- Eligible for Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) clearance.
- US Citizenship Required.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proven leadership experience and team management capabilities.
- Ability to think critically, solve complex problems, and adapt technical solutions to mission goals.
- Ability to stay updated with advancements in radar/SAR research.
- Willingness to travel (up to 10%).
- Optional: Exposure to commercial SAR providers (e.g., Capella Space, ICEYE, Umbra).
- Optional: Experience with government overhead sensing platforms and mission planning tools.
- Optional: Familiarity with Automatic Target Recognition (ATR) and Moving Target Indication (MTI) techniques.
- Optional: Strong Foundation in AI/ML development and integration tools.
- Optional: Active Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) clearance.
