Key Responsibilities
- Field & Laboratory Testing
- Performs required materials testing in accordance with project specifications and applicable standards (ASTM, AASHTO, etc.)
- Conducts soil compaction testing, concrete testing, asphalt testing, or other assigned material evaluations
- Ensures proper sampling, preparation, and handling of materials
- Operates testing equipment safely and accurately
- Documentation & Reporting
- Accurately records test results, observations, and field conditions
- Completes reports clearly, professionally, and without errors
- Maintains defensible documentation to support regulatory compliance
- Submits reports in a timely manner to support project progress
- Quality Control & Risk Management
- Identifies non-compliant materials and reports deficiencies promptly
- Ensures testing procedures meet industry and company standards
- Maintains proper equipment calibration and maintenance
- Protects WHS from liability through accurate, defensible data
- Safety & Professional Conduct
- Works safely and promotes safety awareness on job sites
- Complies with all safety policies and PPE requirements
- Maintains professionalism when interacting with contractors and clients
- Communicates findings clearly and objectively
- Client & Project Support
- Coordinates testing schedules with contractors and project teams
- Provides responsive communication regarding test results
- Contributes to strong client relationships through reliability and professionalism
- Experience in construction materials testing
- Ability to work outdoors in varying conditions
- Ability to travel during the week to project sites
- Strong written documentation skills
- Certifications relevant to materials testing (ACI, NICET, WAQTC, etc.) is preferred
