Summary: The Maintenance & Security Assistant is responsible for maintaining a safe, secure, and clean environment within the facility. This role combines security functions with environmental (cleaning and hygiene) duties to support overall operations, ensure compliance with safety standards, and promote a positive experience for staff, visitors, and clients/patients.
Essential Functions:
A: Maintenance/Security/ Environnemental/ General Support Services

Perform routine inspections of hospital rooms, corridors, offices, and mechanical areas

Assist with basic repairs to walls, floors, doors, lighting, and fixtures

Monitor and report issues with HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and medical gas systems

Replace light bulbs, ceiling tiles, filters, and simple hardware components

Help maintain equipment such as carts, beds, wheelchairs, and stretchers

Support preventative maintenance by preparing tools, parts, and work areas

Move furniture, equipment, and supplies around the hospital

Help set up rooms for new patients, events, or procedures

Monitor Premises to ensure safety and security of people, property, and assets

Control access to buildings, check identification, and manage visitor entry

Conduct routing patrols and report suspicious activity or hazards

Respond to incidents, emergencies, or alarms and follow established procedures

Assist in enforcing organizational policies, rules, and safety regulations

Prepare incident reports and maintain security logs

Perform cleaning tasks including floors, restrooms, offices, and common areas

Ensure proper waste disposal, including general and hazardous waste (if applicable)

Support with replenishment of cleaning or medical supplies as needed

Provide assistance and directions to visitors, staff, or clients

Support operational tasks as required by management

Adhere to health, safety, and confidentiality policies

Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education: High school degree or equivalent preferred
Licenses/Certification:

Experience: Previous experience in Engineering, Security, or support services preferred

Basic training in workplace health and safety (WHS/OSHA) is an advantage

Security certification/license preferred

Knowledge of infection control practices (for healthcare settings) is a plus
