We are currently hiring a Leak Detection Technician I for our Murfreesboro, TN office - Inspection Services Division! Headquartered in Richland, WA, Vista Precision Solutions, Inc. Position Overview
We are now accepting resumes for a motivated, well-organized Leak Detection Technician I, in our Integrity Assessment group, to conduct test activities at airport and fuel distribution facilities worldwide. Leak Detection Technicians are an integral part of Vista field operations. As a Leak Detection Technician I, you will assist Senior field staff in equipment preparation, including maintenance of services equipment and ensuring the truck and trailer are roadworthy, mobilize equipment to job sites and support Senior field staff in the day-to-day activities required for the successful completion of field projects. As a Leak Detection Technician I, you will develop an understanding of our technologies and equipment. Your responsibilities will grow as you learn our technologies, and fuel storage and distribution systems and components.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and thrives in outdoor work environments, solving challenges in real time and collaborating with team members. This position requires frequent travel to job sites across North America (and limited international job sites) and offers excellent opportunities for growth and technical training.
Job Qualifications / Responsibilities
- Ability to learn fuel storage and distribution systems and components.
- Ability to learn VPSI proprietary equipment and methods in usage, maintenance, repair and troubleshooting.
- Self-starter, with strong sense of ownership, follow-through and work ethic.
- Use the highest level of customer relations skills when working with customers.
- Communicate professionally and respectfully, with customers and coworkers.
- Punctuality and time management. Report to job sites on time and complete assignments within deadlines.
- Adapt to changing project requirements, schedules and weather conditions, maintaining flexibility to support business needs.
- Follow safety protocols to maintain a safe work environment, including proper use of PPE, and adhere to company and client safety requirements.
- Intermediate: Microsoft Office (i.e. Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Ensure all testing equipment is properly maintained and functioning correctly prior to project kick-off and upon job completion.
- Safely mobilize service equipment to various job sites (truck and trailer) following federal DOT regulations.
- Assist in leak detection testing services and maintenance activities.
- Assist with detailed reports for client submittals.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support projects and company goals.
Job Requirements
- Basic hand tool knowledge
- Basic plumbing, electrical, mechanical knowledge
- Must pass pre-employment background check
- Must have REAL ID, passport is a plus
- Must be able to obtain Common Access Card (CAC) and TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential)
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
- Must pass company sponsored DOT physical exam
- Ability to safely tow a trailer
- Must pass pre-employment and random drug screening tests
- Must be able to work outdoors for project and maintenance activities
- Travel 50% - 70% with overnight stays
- Able to lift 50-100 pounds
Preferred experience (0 to 5 years) in the leak detection, aircraft refueling, fuel farm operation, fuel piping, petroleum refining, petrochemical industries, or similar industries is a plus. Travel is required. Salary is commensurate with experience and we offer an excellent benefits package.
