Engineering Lab Technician

Job Title: Engineering Lab Technician

Reports To: Director of Engineering

Direct reports: None

Key relationships: Engineering team, Manufacturing engineering

Role Purpose:

Provide the engineering team with lab support to increase the efficiency of the overall team.

Requirements:

• Basic understanding of mechanical & electrical print reading.
• Organized, self-starter able to work without close supervision
• Desire to be part of the engineering team, support members as needed and learn new skills
• Be able to switch tasks quickly if needed to support priorities
• Proficient using electrical multimeters and calipers. Be able to learn new measurement devices as required
• Proficient in using MS suite of software, Teams, be able to learn new software applications as required

Key Responsibilities:

• Utilize calipers or other measurement devices to measure dimensions of engineering samples
• Run tests of LED lighting in the Integrating sphere and provide data to engineer
• Run tests in the UV chamber
• Support engineers in setup, running and maintenance of 3D printers
• Support engineers in fabrication of LED lighting prototypes
• Utilize DVP&R supporting engineers in tests.
• Assist during extrusion trial runs at Vista’s extrusion facility.
• Assist in preparing Prototype and Engineering build documents and gather needed parts for builds
• Maintain cleanliness of lab facilities
• Support engineering inventory cycle counts
• Follow all requirements to support Vista Quality Objectives
• Other tasks as assigned
