About the Position
The Senior Safety Coordinator is a full-time position that is focused on keeping our team safe. They are responsible for tasks such as worksite analysis, getting employees involved, preventing hazards, developing and facilitating training sessions and keeping up with safety policies and regulations. The Senior Safety Coordinator works hand-in-hand with the leadership team to make sure safety stays front and center across the organization.

Compensation and Benefits
The salary for this position is $29.00 - $35.00 per hour. The Senior Safety Coordinator is also eligible for the following benefits:

Essential Position Responsibilities
- Conduct regular audits of the operations, including facilities, machinery and safety equipment to identify and solve potential compliance issues, safety risks and other opportunities.
- Train and coach employees on proper safety practices.
- Conduct accident investigations and submit reports.
- Develop and implement safety and health policies, practices and procedures in compliance with Federal, State and Local laws and regulations.
- Preparation of root cause analysis reports.
- Assist with conducting risk assessments and recommend appropriate risk mitigation measures.
- Recommend and implement strategies for the elimination of unsafe practices.
- Emphasize the critical importance of identifying different outcomes and the necessary precautions to prevent hazards.
- Ensure that detailed discussion and monitoring is occurring during high risk tasks.
- Provide feedback on work practices, such as employee recognition and making corrections.
- Conduct regular employee engagement and walk throughs.
- Develop and prepare training materials. Conduct trainings for all employees on safety, hazard recognition and other topics.
- Manage PPE supplies and vending machines.
- Other responsibilities as assigned.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, project management or other related degree and/or at least 3 years of experience with safety program administration in the manufacturing industry required.
- Working knowledge of state and federal OSHA laws and regulations.
- Experience with molten metal or metal/machining fabrication is preferred.
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP) designation strongly preferred.
Qualifications
- Bilingual in English and Spanish required.
- Ability to build positive relationships with employees.
- Strong and effective written and verbal interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to develop and facilitate trainings and presentations for employees of all levels within the organization.
- Willing to adjust work schedule as needed to address emergencies and deliver training and support to all shifts.
- Demonstrated proficiency in policy development, documentation and implementation.
- High level of attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities with competing deadlines.
