SCOPE AND PURPOSE OF POSITIONIn accordance with the Agency’s mission statement, policies and procedures, professional Code of Ethics, State of Michigan licensing, contracts, funding, and COA standards; the Adoption Supervisor is responsible for planning, developing, organizing, and managing the daily operations of the department.TASKS OF THE POSITIONEnsure the assigned program team delivers quality program services in accordance with applicable contract terms agency specific policies and procedures, and applicable governing bodies.Actively collaborates with other supervisors ensuring effective communication between programs.Maintains a flexible work schedule.Actively participates in the hiring process.Ensures accurate, professional, and timely completion of all agency required reports, documents, and adoption billings.Provides ongoing case management and weekly services to assigned agency consumers and families, in coordination with the applicable referral source, as required by program specific procedures and/or applicable contract terms.Ensures accurate, professional, and timely completion of all court reports, attends hearings as necessary, and ensures completion of all court disposition forms after each hearing, as necessary.Provides direct supervision, discipline and evaluates the performance of assigned staff.Stays informed of current practice developments within the profession.Utilizes supervision, educational, and training opportunities to further professional development.Plans and organizes work to meet all job requirements according to agency and COA standards, licensing, and funding requirements.Regularly prepares for and participates in monthly supervision.Performs all other duties as required or requested by the agency.Responsible for obtaining permanency for children through adoption.Communicates with MDHHS to ensure proper paperwork is received to proceed with the adoption process.Conducts and/or participates in case conferences, hearings, assessments, and home visits as required.Represents the agency at community meetings; interacts with the community and other social services agencies as required.Facilitate trainings for adoptive and foster care families.Responsible for adoption billings.Participates new hire orientation and training.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITYDirectly supervises adoption specialists. Fulfills supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
