POSITION SUMMARY
Leads day-to-day production, warehouse, and shipping and receiving operations to achieve safety, quality, delivery, cost, and workforce objectives. Translates business priorities into effective staffing, schedules, standard work, and continuous improvement initiatives while ensuring compliance, reliable customer service, and employee development.
POSITION DETAILS
· Lead a safe, inclusive, accountable, and productive work environment through visible floor leadership, regular communication, and consistent follow-through.
· Translate customer demand into production, labor, capacity, and shipping plans that meet service commitments across assigned shifts.
· Own daily operational performance using key metrics for safety, quality, throughput, schedule attainment, on-time delivery, labor productivity, inventory accuracy, and cost.
· Conduct tiered daily reviews, communicate performance and risks, assign actions, and escalate constraints that may affect customer or business commitments.
· Lead root-cause analysis and corrective and preventive actions for safety incidents, quality defects, late orders, inventory discrepancies, downtime, and other operational failures.
· Develop, document, audit, and improve standard operating procedures, standard work, visual controls, and employee training to ensure consistent execution.
· Drive continuous improvement using Lean, 5S, Kaizen, or similar methods to reduce waste, improve flow, and increase productivity without compromising safety or quality.
· Manage labor, overtime, supplies, and controllable operating expenses; analyze variances and implement sustainable cost improvements.
· Partner with Human Resources on workforce planning, recruiting, onboarding, attendance, performance management, employee relations, and succession development.
· Coach supervisors and employees through clear expectations, regular feedback, skills development, recognition, and fair application of company policies.
· Coordinate with Quality, Maintenance, Supply Chain, Customer Service, Information Technology, and other partners to resolve constraints and support business priorities.
· Ensure accurate and timely use of warehouse, production, and enterprise systems; champion system adoption, data integrity, and process changes.
· Maintain compliance with applicable safety, quality, environmental, security, and employment requirements and support internal, customer, and certification audits.
· Support business continuity, emergency response, equipment reliability, facility readiness, and responsible resource use.
Supervisory Responsibilities
· Leads Production and Shipping and Receiving supervisors and staff; provides clear expectations, coaching, performance feedback, succession planning, and development opportunities.
