Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and position patients for radiographic exams, ensuring safety and comfort.
- Operate radiographic equipment and select appropriate technical factors.
- Maintain and evaluate image quality, ensuring optimal results.
- Follow sterile techniques and ensure proper use of shielding and safety equipment.
- Maintain cleanliness and stock of exam rooms and work areas.
- Adhere to hospital and departmental policies, including privacy and safety standards.
- Interact professionally with patients, visitors, nursing staff, physicians, and radiologists.
- Participate in staff meetings, training, and continuing education.
- Support on-call and call-in staffing needs across Vista Health sites.
- Education: Graduate of an AMA-approved School of Radiologic Technology
- Licensure:
- Current certification in the State of Illinois (IEMA)
- Registered or registry-eligible with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
- Certification: Current BLS (Basic Life Support) for Healthcare Providers
- Experience: New grads welcome – no prior experience required
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work with patients across the age spectrum (Neonatal through Geriatric)
- Strong attention to detail and safety procedures
- Commitment to teamwork and high-quality care
- Frequent walking, standing, and lifting (up to 50 lbs)
- Exposure to infectious diseases and emergency situations
- Must be able to wear protective equipment as needed
- May be required to work irregular hours, including weekends, evenings, and on-call shifts
