GENERAL SUMMARY:
The Administrator is responsible for supervising the daily operation of the Otterbein – Jackson ministry. Primary areas of responsibility include the health center, assisted living, and campus care programs. The Administrator directs partners providing these services and maintains effective working relationships with the Executive Director, Otterbein SeniorLife leadership, residents, families, and the broader community.
The duties and responsibilities of this position are to be carried out in a manner consistent with the mission, values, and guiding principles of Otterbein SeniorLife, supporting the ministry and those we serve.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES:
1. Health Care Management
a. Maintain licensure and certification of the ministry; ensure compliance with state and federal regulations; maintain personal administrator’s license.
b. Maintain current knowledge of applicable laws and regulations.
c. Maintain a positive relationship with representatives of government agencies who survey and inspect the ministry.
d. Promote and maintain a working relationship with the local health delivery system.
e. Maintain awareness of and respond as necessary to the ongoing needs of the health center, assisted living, and campus care programs.
f. Ensure accessibility of the Administrator to residents and families.
g. Maintain awareness of Medicare and reimbursement systems impacting operations.
h. Ensure that corporate compliance directives are implemented and monitored.
1. Financial Management
a. Work collaboratively with Home Office leadership and the Executive Director to assist in development of the annual operating budget; execute the approved budget and monitor financial performance.
b. Analyze financial performance and make operational adjustments as needed to achieve key financial metrics while optimizing quality outcomes and overall ministry performance.
c. Actively manage key performance drivers including census, payer mix, case mix index (CMI), labor management, and operating expenses to support financial stability and quality care.
d. Ensure effective collaboration with clinical, admissions, and support teams to drive census growth, appropriate admissions, and optimal reimbursement.
e. Implement and adhere to financial and operational policies established by the Executive Director and Otterbein SeniorLife leadership.
3. General Management
a. Maintain quality services for residents at the level established by the Executive Director and Otterbein SeniorLife.
b. Ensure buildings and grounds are maintained appropriately.
c. Hire, coach, and develop leadership partners.
d. Maintain a positive, communicative work environment.
e. Develop professional relationships with residents, families, and the community.
f. Maintain an active presence with residents.
g. Meet regularly with the Executive Director.
h. Provide timely operational reports.
i. Support occupancy and census development.
j. Manage ministry assets and contribute to capital planning.
k. Represent Otterbein – Jackson professionally.
l. Promote resident satisfaction and quality outcomes.
AUTHORITIES
The Administrator operates within established policies and collaborates with leadership on major decisions.
