Provide direct information, education, and referrals to individuals and groups in target population as required by program and/or as directed by Supervisor. Work with other program staff, VCC staff and community partners.
Qualifications:
- Conduct outreach and provide HIV health education, counseling and testing services to individuals at risk for HIV infection or transmission
- Work with individuals to assess individual risk and needs, enrolling those appropriate into an individualized risk reduction program
- Internal and external program reporting, such as progress and final reports
- Oversee completion of program objectives and recommend changes in scope as needed
- Serve as liaison and assist with collaborative support activities with community agencies, local government representatives and other VCC project staff
- Attend meetings, as needed
- Enhance professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, current literature review, in-service meetings and workshops
Minimum
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Minimum two years of experience in community education
- Valid California driver’s license, current vehicle insurance and reliable transportation
- Ability and willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
Preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in related field or associates degree with minimum two years' of experience in community education
Required Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
- Ability to present information accurately and effectively both verbally and in writing to individuals and groups
- Good verbal and written skills necessary for communication with patients/clients, providers and other staff
- Ability to plan and facilitate internal and community meetings
- Experience/familiarity with computers, Microsoft Office products (Word/Excel), business e-mail communication systems and internet search capabilities
Pay Range
- $23.00 - $24.00 Depending On Experience
