Vista College is currently hiring for a Student Finance Officer at the El Paso, Texas campus.
The schedule for this position is:
Mondays & Thursdays - 10:00am to 7:00pm
Tuesdays & Wednesdays - 9:00am to 6:00pm
Fridays - 8:00am - 5:00pm
Every 5 weeks - Saturday - 9:00am to 1:00pm

The Student Finance Officer will be responsible for meeting with prospective students to assist them in understanding the financial options available to cover the cost of attendance with Vista College. Under general supervision, this position assists and advises students, parents and other interested parties regarding student financial assistance and provides information on available programs, procedures and eligibility requirements. Reviews financial aid applications and related documentation for compliance with eligibility requirements.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide information, advise and assist perspective student and current student through the Financial Aid process, and process all aspects of Financial Aid
- Track receipt of all documents required to process TIV and assist with acquisition
- Provide information, advise and assist perspective Veterans and current Veterans through the VA process
- Track receipt of transcripts and other documents necessary for certification, and assist admissions with their acquisition
- Analyze student applications and determine eligibility of available funding
- Maintain knowledge of current regulations
- Ensure accuracy of student packaging to all state and federal guidelines
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- High School Diploma or equivalent GED
- Demonstrates strong customer service oriented, critical thinking, and problem solving skills
- Strong organizational and analytical skills
- Ability to Multitask
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively and in a timely manner
• Proven knowledge of state and federal financial aid policies and regulations
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
- Ability to work in a fast-moving environment that supports Financial Aid functions and customer service
- Ability to support and actively participate in the major initiatives for process improvement
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment.
- Evening and Saturday work is required.
- No or very limited physical effort required.
- No or very limited exposure to physical risk.
- Less than 10% travel
