Salary: $19.67-$20.67 DOEPOSITION: INSTRUCTIONAL AIDE ( IA )JOB DESCRIPTION: The IAs primary responsibilities and qualifications are listed below. All IAs report to their site administrator (s). The IA is responsible for assisting in the development and performance of the classes they assist in. The IA will foster a collaborative and stimulating classroom environment for a diverse group of students, as well as foster a strong collaboration between parents, faculty members, board members, and community partners.REPORTS TO : SCHOOL ADMINISTRATOR (S)RESPONSIBILITIES Fosters a safe and nurturing learning environmentAssist the teacher in maintaining classroom systems/procedures and manages student behavior to ensure all students are fully engaged in learningSupports differentiation or other instructional strategies implemented to ensure that needs of all learners are metEstablishes an environment where students are excited about learningSupports teachers with data tracking and progress monitoringBuilds strong relationships with students and parents and teachersDemonstrates support and knowledge of school's goals and missionAttends and participates in school-based meetings and activitiesCan develop or assist in the development of lesson plans according to the CA CCSS and CA State Content StandardsIdentifies student areas for improvement and is able to work with the student and family and internal resources to suggest options for improvementProvides continual assessment of student progress, maintain student records and complete assigned paperwork in provided timeframes.Collaborates with the Educational specialist and other staff to meet the needs of all studentsAttends and implements professional development training throughout and beyond the school yearDemonstrates support and knowledge of school's goals and missionParticipates, attends and plans field tripsParticipates in school events during, before and after schoolAttends and participates in school-based meetings and activitiesQUALIFICATIONSMeet the requirements of the NCLB & ESSAPrior experience working with students in a learning environmentBilingual in Spanish preferredIntermediate proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and OutlookMust be flexible, positive, detail-oriented, team player patient and willing to learn.Must be able to work in a fast paced work environment with flexibility and dedicationAt times this job may entail lifting, walking, sitting and standing for periods of timeNo new employee can begin employment until all local mandated trainings are completed and the fingerprint cards are processed by the California Department of Justice and it is determined that there is no criminal conviction that would prohibit the employee from working with students and staff.
