Under the direction of the Associate Director of Instruction, the English Language Development (ELD) Coordinator leads the design, implementation, and evaluation of programs and services for English Learners (ELs) to ensure equitable access to academic success. This role supports teachers, administrators, and other instructional staff by providing guidance on effective instructional practices, compliance with state and federal regulations, and culturally responsive teaching. The ELD Coordinator plays a critical role in promoting inclusive, linguistically appropriate educational experiences for multilingual students.
Requirements / Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS Bachelor’s degree in Education, TESOL, Linguistics, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred). Valid teaching credential with English Learner authorization or equivalent (e.g., ESL endorsement, CLAD, TESOL certification). Minimum 3–5 years of experience working with English Learners in a classroom or programmatic setting. Deep knowledge of second language acquisition, ELD standards, and best practices in EL instruction. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to lead training and collaborate with diverse teams. Experience in instructional leadership, coaching, or coordination roles. Familiarity with multilingual programs. Bilingual (Spanish) is strongly preferred.
