Cloud Engineer with Nutanix

Position Summary:

The Cloud Engineer will possess expert knowledge of Nutanix, VMWare, and migration to Azure. As part of Client, the Cloud Engineer / Architect will encompass discovery, planning, execution, and support of enterprise systems while engaging with other team members to enhance the user experience, driving the company's digital transformation and ensuring the highest levels of performance and reliability for our members.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Works with the Manager to identify projects and schedules for the improvement of IT infrastructure.
• Provides consultative engagement with Client community to enhance the user experience.
• In conjunction with the cybersecurity analyst, assist with implementation, maintaining, and execution of enterprise-wide security measures.
• Assists in providing advanced enterprise infrastructure guidance, mentorship, and direction to team members. Encourages their development and ensures that milestones are met.
• Reviews enterprise infrastructure requirements, makes improvement recommendations, and ensures enterprise systems installations receive ongoing maintenance including security patches.
• Assists with the design, creation, and maintenance of a detailed inventory for all enterprise hardware and software and assists in disaster recovery planning and execution.
• Performs operating system and core software installations and upgrades.
• Assists users with questions and problems relating to the system and its function within the organization.
• Keep current with technology trends and maintain skill set to implement new technology.
• Provides technical guidance and direction to junior members of the team and helpdesk.
• Works with technology vendors to prioritize and resolve hardware and software issues.
• Works with representatives of various departments in assessing departmental needs, accessing, and evaluating new IT projects, re-engineering system processes.
• Enforce all copyright laws as stated in software license and EU Electronic media policies.

Application and System Responsibilities:

• Maintenance and support of the core systems infrastructure.
• Assist end users with the implementation of new equipment within the department and procedures related to the use of the new hardware or software applications.
• Provide input for enhancing efficiencies within departments by providing additional software capabilities.
• Keep abreast of current cloud and on-premise technologies and offer recommendations related to the use of updated technology.

Skills Required:

• Advanced knowledge of software and cloud technologies including O365, M365, and Azure.
• Advanced knowledge of networking technologies including routing, switching, firewall configuration, IPS/IDS, and 802.11x wireless in a multisite intranet installation.
• Advanced knowledge of modern cybersecurity concepts and techniques.
• Advanced knowledge of VDI and hyper-converged technologies (Nutanix).
• Advanced knowledge of physical and virtualized systems utilizing VMWare
• Working knowledge of PC applications including O365 products, MS Project, Visio, MS SQL, and Windows server and client platforms.
• Advanced knowledge of P2V migration strategy and execution involving Microsoft Azure
• CiscoPrime, Solarwinds, and other network monitoring and management tools.
• Advanced experience with on-premises Active Directory and Microsoft Entra, Group Policy, Microsoft Server and Client operating systems.
• Familiarity with Linux operating systems.
