Role Description The VR Guide is a part-time role responsible for delivering safe, engaging virtual reality experiences to older adults. On a typical day, you will schedule and host VR sessions, guide participants through VR environments, and provide clear, reassuring instructions before, during, and after each experience. You will troubleshoot basic technical issues, ensure equipment is set up and used correctly, and monitor participant comfort and safety throughout each session. You will also document session notes, share feedback with the team to improve experiences, and collaborate on refining content offerings based on participant interests and needs. This role requires consistent, professional communication with participants, caregivers, and internal team members via phone, video, and online tools.
Qualifications
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and active listening skills, with the ability to guide and reassure older adults in a clear and patient manner.
- Basic to intermediate comfort with technology, including VR headsets, video conferencing tools, and common computer or mobile applications.
- Experience or interest in working with older adults, caregiving, customer support, social work, recreation therapy, or related people-centered fields.
- Ability to manage time effectively, work independently in a remote setting, and maintain reliable internet connectivity and a quiet workspace.
- High level of empathy, professionalism, and respect for diverse backgrounds, abilities, and communication styles.
