What are the responsibilities and job description for the Hospice Clinical Manager - FT, Excellent Pay & Benefits, Middletown, RI position at Visiting Nurse Home & Hospice?
Overall responsibility as a leader to provide direct supervision of clinical staff (Hospice and Palliative Care) and oversight of all clinical patient care services in accordance with the Agency’s policies and procedures. The Hospice Clinical Manager reports to the Hospice Director.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
1. Graduate of a Baccalaureate program in Nursing preferred.
2. Licensed as a Registered Nurse in Rhode Island and Massachusetts or under a Rhode Island Multi-State Compact License.
3. A minimum of five years of experience in Hospice and/or Palliative care.
4. Current certification in CPR.
QUALIFICATIONS
1. Basic knowledge of the practices of Hospice & Palliative Care.
2. Knowledge of community resources related to Hospice and Palliative care.
3. Knowledge of caseload requirements and what constitutes good caseload management and patient care.
4. Awareness and understanding of Agency admission policies for the Hospice and Palliative Care programs.
5. Understanding and acceptance of Agency philosophy and the objectives and expectations of the agency programs.
6. Knowledge of the geographic area and communities the Agency serves.
7. Ability to set the climate for a productive work environment.
8. Knowledge of Agency’s personnel policies and union contracts.
9. Ability to maintain an overview of Agency functioning.
10. Ability to oversee Agency skilled and rehabilitative care based on scientific principles, basic behavioral concepts, and intelligent professional judgment.
11. Knowledge of Agency computer systems utilized for Hospice and Palliative Care programs.
12. Computer literate.
13. Demonstration of leadership skills.
14. Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
15. Demonstrates a positive attitude and willingness to support the Agency during times of change.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS

One or more qualified individuals must provide oversight of all patient care services and personnel. Oversight must include the following:
- Making patient and personnel assignments, G960

- Assuring that patient needs are continually assessed and, G966
- Assuring the development, implementation, and updates of the individualized plan of care. G968
§484.105(c) Interpretive Guidelines
§484.115(c) provides that a clinical manager must be a licensed physician, physical therapist, speech language pathologist, occupational therapist, audiologist, social worker, or a registered nurse.
