What are the responsibilities and job description for the Physical Therapist Assistant position at VISITING NURSE ASSOCIATION OF THE WABASH VALLEY INC?
We are seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant who is responsible for assisting patients with their recovery. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic and love helping people, and must have a minimum of 2 years of experience in their field. The PTA will work directly with the Physical Therapist on a daily basis, so it's important that they have the ability to follow directions and think on their feet. We're looking for full-time assistance, which requires some light lifting and bending while providing individualized treatment plans as well as performing basic administrative duties.
Responsibilities:
- Properly assess the need for treatment and evaluate patient responses to treatment.
- Identify potential complications and refer patients as appropriate.
- Provide patients with treatment by manipulating soft tissue structure.
- Perform therapeutic exercises and stretches for specific muscle groups.
- Manipulate soft tissue structure using a variety of manual techniques.
- Be knowledgeable of proper lifting techniques to prevent injury to patients and aids.
- Participate in staff meeting, case conferences, and in-service training programs.
