Duties
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment such as Hoyer lifts when necessary.
- Monitor patients’ health by taking vital signs, observing changes in condition, and reporting findings accurately to healthcare professionals.
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with feeding when required.
- Administer medication following prescribed schedules and document medication administration in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Support clients with cognitive impairments such as Alzheimer’s disease or dementia through memory care techniques and engaging activities.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping tasks like cleaning, laundry, and organizing personal spaces.
- Follow detailed care plans developed by healthcare providers to ensure consistent and effective patient support while adhering to all safety protocols.
Qualifications
- Prior experience in home health, assisted living, nursing homes, or group home settings is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and patient privacy standards is essential.
- Certification, such as hospice care or dementia training, is a plus.
- Strong observational skills for patient monitoring and recognizing changes in health status.
