Visit Tampa Bay is seeking a Global Leisure Sales Representative to support the department's efforts to promote Tampa Bay to leisure sales visitors.
Responsibilities
- Promote and market the Visit Tampa Bay brand message to all segments of leisure travelers to increase overnight hotel stays for domestic and international visitors
- Execute outbound sales initiatives, destination training, sales lead generation, and customer site tours to drive visitation
- Represent Tampa Bay at domestic trade and consumer-related travel shows
- Work closely with Visit Tampa Bay partners to provide accurate product information to travel advisors and tour operators
- Solicit, organize, and serve as primary host on familiarization tours for clients to showcase the destination
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with local tourism industry partners to funnel qualified leads, build cooperative programs, and present a unified brand effort
- Promote and market Tampa Bay as a cruise destination
- Manage Tampa Bay Specialist Program platform and dashboard reporting
Education, Experience and Qualifications
- Degree from an accredited college or university or equivalent experience in Tourism/Hospitality
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience in sales, tourism, hospitality, attractions, or DMO experience required
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Self-starter who will establish priorities and meet deadlines
- Ability to create and give sales presentations
- Proficiency in customer databases and data entry
- Ability to travel 50% for industry events and client presentations
- Able to attend some weekend and evening events
