About the Position:
The Creative Designer will support the organization’s marketing, reporting, and internal communication needs. Reporting to the Vice President of Marketing, this role designs high-quality creative across digital, print, and experiential channels, while also partnering directly with the President & CEO on external reports, executive materials, and internal production items.
The Creative Designer works cross-departmentally to translate strategy, data, and ideas into clear, on-brand visual communications for stakeholders, partners, and staff. All work aligns with Visit Spokane’s brand standards, business objectives, and organizational goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Creative Direction: Design and execute creative projects across marketing, executive reporting, and internal communications to support brand clarity and stakeholder engagement.
- Executive & Internal Reporting Support: Design external and internal reports, board materials, and presentations in collaboration with the President & CEO, ensuring clarity and alignment with strategic priorities.
- Production Oversight: Manage the full creative production process, including building materials, coordinating with agencies, reviewing drafts, and delivering final assets on time.
- Cross-Department Collaboration: Partner with teams across the organization to ensure creative work supports departmental initiatives and organizational goals.
- Multi-Channel Content Creation: Produce and support creative assets across digital, print, experiential, and OOH channels in collaboration with internal teams and external partners.
- Creative Brief Development: Develop clear creative briefs that define objectives, audiences, timelines, and deliverables for internal and agency projects.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure all creative materials are accurate, consistent, and aligned with brand and campaign standards prior to approval.
- Project Management: Manage workflows, timelines, and priorities across marketing, executive, and internal projects to ensure deadlines and scope are met.
- Design Systems & Templates: Create and maintain design templates for reports, presentations, sales materials, newsletters, and internal communications to improve efficiency and consistency.
- Trend Awareness: Monitor design and communications trends to recommend fresh approaches that strengthen Visit Spokane’s creative output.

- Overcoming barriers between departments to foster open, transparent, and effective and flexible communication, ensuring alignment and smooth collaboration across functions.
- Balancing the pursuit of perfection with the need for efficiency, recognizing when further refinements no longer add value, and making decisions to move forward while maintaining quality and meeting project deadlines
Required Qualifications
- 3–5 years of professional graphic design experience, with a strong emphasis on marketing-focused design
- Bachelor's degree in graphic design, visual communications, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience)
- Strong portfolio demonstrating experience in:
- Marketing campaigns
- Digital and print design
- Brand-aligned creative work
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop required)
- Solid understanding of design principles, typography, layout, and visual hierarchy
- Experience designing for both digital and print formats
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
Preferred (Nice-to-Have) Qualifications
- Experience with motion graphics or basic video editing (After Effects, Premiere Pro, or similar)
- Familiarity with social media content best practices and digital advertising formats
- Experience working within brand guidelines for a consumer-facing organization
- Photography or photo-editing experience
Work Environment: Special Considerations
This role generally requires 40 hours per week.
Work Location
Visit Spokane is a hybrid work environment requiring at least two in-office days. Team members are asked to reserve most of the in-office hours to collaborate and complete administrative tasks.
Because this position requires out-of-office appointments and occasional afterhours and weekend engagements, you should anticipate additional time in the office or in the field relative to other positions that may allow for more work-from-home opportunities.
