Marketing Coordinator
Coordinator Mission:
Create engaging content for these company's social media presence, including keeping social media channels updated and brand-focused, seeking out new social media avenues connecting with audiences, and promoting interactions with local business partners, convention/corporate clients including Online Travel Associates.
Marketing & Social Media Coordinator Job Duties:
- Manages company social media channels, including Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram, Google, YouTube and other relevant platforms for all companies (Natchez, Gray Line, Riverboat City of New Orleans, Visit New Orleans DMC, and VisitNewOrleans.com)
- Updates and develops new social media creative for current and emerging social media platforms
- Creates dynamic written, graphic, and video content. Consolidates a library of video and photos that can be used on social as well as print materials or shared with Clients. May use outside professional resources when approved in budgeting.
- Optimizes content following search engine optimization (SEO) and pay-per-click (PPC) and confers with Webmaster on SEO changes
- Creates content that promotes audience interaction, increases audience presence on company sites, and encourages audience participation.
- Works as part of a team to develop large social media campaigns or those specialized to campaigns, sales needs, etc.
- Analyses and reports audience information and demographics, and success of existing social media projects on a regular basis with recommendations for improvement or reasons for changes in success rate (google analytics, meltwater etc.)
- Targeted emails pre and post event, sales
- Proposes personal new ideas and concepts for social media content and goals, presenting details on any budget needs.
- Manages digital advertising program including Google AdWords, retargeting etc. Works with marketing and social media team members to coordinate ad campaigns with social media strategy.
- Writes and distributes e-newsletters to partners, with reports on success rate
- Manages entire email marketing program including initial strategy, mailing list development, copywriting and design, and analyzes trends for sales leads.
- Uses timelines and scheduled content to create a consistent stream of new content for audience interaction while analyzing, managing, and altering schedules where necessary to optimize visits. Makes calendar available a month is advance for predetermined posts.
- Understands the need for out of office content building on a consistent schedule. Pursues “in the moment” content and posting
- Encourages staff involvement in social media input but maintains responsibility for the program while keeping marketing director informed of direction.
- Reviews comparable sites such as out of town vessel companies & similar local or outside tour companies to show, compare and recommend changes in any of our social or website presence.
- Works closely with Marketing on special event planning and execution and social media attachments
- Develops and build on strong relationships with social outlets (including print, digital, TV, radio)
- Manages lists of contacts by pitch, region, customer focus
- Produces projects and campaigns on time and on budget
- Coordinate high-quality media coverage at national, regional and local levels across all types of media when provided the opportunity
- Share videos and new photography to city and state tourism entities on a regular basis with the ability for them to use or share
- Develops social campaigns/contests for interaction, giveaways, sale items
- Creates print ads and brochures
Technical Skills and Qualifications:
Marketing or social media or Marketing Degree Preferred. Market Technology Skills, Content Writing, Graphic Design Programs, Campaign Execution, Strong Communication Skills, Idea Presentation, SEO and PPC, Proofreading, Strong Customer-Service Skills, Proficient in all major social media platforms and associated creative platforms, Photography and Video collection and creative finished publishable pieces.
Skilled in the following: Photoshop, InDesign, Final Cut Pro, iMovie, Adobe Premier Pro, Social Media analytics, SEO, SMO, Marketing automation software, CMS software.
