Hersheypark is seeking a highly-motivated and organized individual to join our team as a Guest Experience Scheduling and Training Intern. This is a part-time role that provides hands-on experience, specifically focusing on the operational support functions of our Guest Experience (GE) department, which includes front-line teams such as Admissions and Guest Relations. The intern will assist the GE Leadership team with staffing logistics, scheduling optimization, and the execution of training programs to ensure the highest level of guest satisfaction and operational efficiency under the guidance of the Assistant Area Manager of Scheduling.

- Assist the GE Leadership team in creating, managing, and distributing biweekly staff schedules for multiple Guest Experience departments (e.g., Admissions, Guest Relations, Rentals, Seasonal Events).*
- Utilize workforce management software (UKG) to input schedule requests, manage shift changes, and ensuring adequate staffing levels are maintained based on operational needs.*
- Assist with monitoring daily staffing reports and communicate proactively with departmental supervisors regarding coverage gaps and call-offs.*
- Help process schedule and availability changes in accordance with company and departmental policies.*
- Support the planning and execution of new hire orientation sessions and departmental training workshops for Guest Experience team members.*
- Audit employees and supervisors during operational hours to ensure proper procedures including, but not limited to: Guest Experience department standards, hospitality and guest interactions, child labor law compliance, and make recommendations to the Guest Experience management team for continuous training and development opportunities*
- Assist in updating, organizing, and distributing training materials, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and job aids.
- Coordinate logistics for training sessions, including room reservations and material preparation.
- Observe and provide feedback on training effectiveness and suggest improvements to training content or delivery methods.
- Act as a positive representative of the GE Leadership team, assisting with on-the-spot communication and problem-solving.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Must be at least 18 years of age on the day of applying for this position
- Must be a sophomore, junior, or senior undergraduate majoring in Human Resources, Communications, Hospitality Management, Park and Recreation, or another related major
- At least 1 year of guest-facing experience preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and Google Workspace applications, including Excel and Word.
- Excellent organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with diverse groups of people.
- Must be friendly, upbeat, energetic, and work well with other employees and be able to interact with our guests
- Must have strong conflict resolution/problem-solving skills
- Must be comfortable speaking to large groups.
- Must be available to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, particularly during the park's operating season.
- Must be able to safeguard confidential information to include, but not limited to: employee personnel information, employee position and pay rates, and employee/guest incident information
- Must display a positive attitude, an eagerness to learn, and professional image in compliance with Hershey Entertainment & Resorts guidelines

- Must be able to work 3 days per week throughout the summer season to include a rotation of mornings and evenings, weekends, and holidays. Hours will vary between 30-40 hours per week from April/May thru September 2026 with an opportunity to extend between September and March 2027, 15-24 hours per week
- Physical requirements include standing for up to 8 hours at a time and walking in excess of 1 mile per day (including up and down stairs) and ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Additional physical requirements include complete mobility and good physical conditioning, good hearing and vision, and ability to tolerate heat and sunlight
- Employees are subject to a variety of weather conditions, including but not limited to: extreme heat, sun exposure, cold, and inclement weather
- Company-coordinated housing is available for this opportunity. If utilized, a weekly housing fee of $160 per week, inclusive of utilities and limited transportation, will be automatically deducted from students’ biweekly paychecks. Upon commitment to employee housing, HE&R will charge a $180 housing fee, inclusive of a refundable $160 housing deposit and a nonrefundable $20 insurance waiver fee.
