We are seeking an experienced Data Architect to lead the design, implementation, and governance of enterprise-scale data platforms. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in modern data architecture, cloud-native data engineering, and analytics solutions leveraging technologies such as Azure Databricks, Azure Data Factory, Microsoft Fabric, Apache Spark, Unity Catalog, BigQuery, and Cloud Functions.
About the Role
This role will collaborate closely with business stakeholders, data engineers, solution architects, and application teams to establish scalable, secure, and high-performing data ecosystems that enable advanced analytics and AI initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement enterprise data architecture strategies aligned with business objectives.
- Architect and deliver end-to-end data solutions across Azure, AWS and GCP environments.
- Define data models, integration patterns, and data governance standards for structured and unstructured datasets.
- Lead the design of scalable lakehouse architectures using Azure Databricks and Microsoft Fabric.
- Develop and optimize batch and near real-time data pipelines using Azure Data Factory, Apache Spark, and cloud-native services.
- Establish and enforce data governance, security, and metadata management practices utilizing Unity Catalog.
- Define standards for data quality, lineage, access control, and compliance.
- Optimize data processing workloads for performance, scalability, and cost efficiency.
- Provide architectural guidance and technical leadership to development and engineering teams.
- Collaborate with DevOps teams to implement CI/CD practices for data solutions.
- Conduct architecture reviews, proof-of-concepts, and technology evaluations.
- Able to lead C-level and executive conversations and present technical thought leadership.
- Able to lead data strategy conversation and own overall architecture of solution.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.
- 10 years of experience in data architecture, data engineering, or related roles.
- 5 years of hands-on experience designing cloud-based data platforms.
- Proven experience designing enterprise data lake, data warehouse, and lakehouse solutions.
- Extensive experience with Azure Databricks and Apache Spark development.
- Strong proficiency in SQL and Spark SQL.
- Experience implementing data integration workflows using Azure Data Factory.
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric components including Data Factory, Lakehouse, and Warehouse capabilities.
- Strong knowledge of Google BigQuery architecture, optimization, and administration.
- Experience implementing governance frameworks using Unity Catalog.
- Experience developing serverless solutions using GCP Cloud Functions.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and leadership skills.
Required Skills
- Experience with Delta Lake and Medallion architecture patterns.
- Experience with CI/CD tools including Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions.
- Experience in multi-cloud migration and modernization initiatives.
