Visionare is one of North America's leading brand of high-quality Orthopedic Implant Solutions and Craniomaxillofacial Surgical Solutions. We are currently hiring for the position of Computer Numerical Control (CNC) Operator at our Fort Myers manufacturing and distribution plant.
The CNC Operator is directly responsible for supporting the Operations Manager in the overseeing and execution of daily production orders to meet department and company goals. The CNC Operator follows operational machinery directions, while helping to achieve a positive team environment. Completes production paperwork, verifies product quality by assisting with measurements and inspection steps. Verifies raw material and tooling are staged pre-production, performs pre and post manufacture line clearances, and ensures documentation is complete and filed accordingly.
The CNC Operator must:
- Set-up and/or Program, operate the Computer Numerical Control responsible for the machinery
- Follow safety requirements and maintain certifications
- Inspect the machinery and product for quality assurance
- Perform daily maintenance on the machinery
- Handle materials appropriately and safely
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Performs job functions while adhering to Visionare policies, procedures, work instructions and current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP's).
2. Adheres to Visionare and industry standards for safety and promotes a safe work environment. Must be capable of wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required to comply with government and company safety standards.
3. Completes all Visionare documentation while adhering to Good Documentation Practices (GDP's).
4. Manufactures medical devices using CNC machinery includes:
a) Processes routine inspections, which may include 100% inspection of all parts produced using:
- Go/No Go / Digital Calipers / Micrometers / Optical Comparator (Projector and MicroVu)
b) Based on measurement in above set, makes tooling offsets on the CNC machinery
c) Replaces CNC tooling as needed during production runs
d) Maintains an organized safe work environment
e) Washes medical devices per Visionare documentation
f) Sweeps and mops work area daily or as needed
g) Keeps clean the exterior surfaces of CNC machineries
h) Discusses with Manager purchase requests for CNC tooling and Manufacturing supplies
5. Notifies Visionare of any issues on product quality, regulatory compliance and/or safety issues
6. Other general duties as assigned
7. Approves in-process production by confirming specifications (measures angular dimensions, radii, contour, clearances, thread lead, and other specifications)
WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- No specific degree is currently required for the position of CNC Operator. However, progression to the role of CNC Operator usually through a CNC Operator or CNC Assistant is 1 to 3 years of CNC experience and/or vocational training.
- Previous experience in medical device manufacturing and/or Quality Control inspection work is highly advantageous.
EDUCATION AND TRAINING REQUIRED
- High School Diploma or GED
- Certifications Related to knowledge of CNC Swiss Lathe machines, is highly advantageous.
MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED
- Basic knowledge of math and Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to read technical manuals/blueprints/drawings
