The Billing & Practice Operations Manager is a hands-on role at the center of how our practice runs. You’ll own the insurance and billing function and keep day-to-day operations running smoothly. This is a great fit for someone who brings strong medical billing expertise and genuinely enjoys contributing to a close-knit team.
This is a part-time role, 20 - 30 hours/week, including Saturdays, starting at $20/hr.

Responsibilities
Insurance & Billing
- Submit and manage medical claims
- Coordinate with our insurance billing service to verify eligibility and communicate benefits to the front desk staff
- Review and resolve claim denials in a timely manner
- Monitor accounts receivable and follow up on outstanding balances
Operations & Administration
- Oversee day-to-day office operations, patient flow, and scheduling
- Foster a positive team environment and keep staff coordinated
- Address technology-related concerns and support electronic medical record (EMR) system administration
- Proactively identify operational gaps and drive improvements from start to finish
Skills & Qualifications
Must Have
- Experience in medical billing, coding, and collections
- Experience with EMR systems
- Background in a medical office setting; eye care experience preferred
- Demonstrated ability to support staff in an office environment
- Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail
- Comfortable multitasking across billing, administrative, and operational priorities
Nice to Have
- Familiarity with vision insurance plans (EyeMed, Spectera, VSP, etc.)
- Experience wearing or fitting contact lenses, or willingness to complete contact lens training
- Comfortable with social media platforms for basic practice marketing support
